This is a supplementary blog post to my local guide above. Any updates or corrections will be found here.
Tonkotsu (Ramen)
I’m a big fan of ramen and especially Tonkotsu. There’s quite a few different ramen places and many specialise in my fave type of ramen, tonkotsu such as Shoryu or Kanada Ya. But the one near me and featured in the above video is Tonkotsu. Make’s sense really. ?
Draughts (boardgames)
For the geeks and just an alternative place to hang out, Draughts is a great choice. A cafe/bar which has a massive collection of board games. There are also places like Loading Bar which is based at a few locations plus a few of the branches have nice video games!
Bar Kick (Table Football)
If board games isn’t your thing and want something more casual with a more of a bar type setting, I recommend Bar Kick. A place to sip a beer or three whilst flashing your table football skills. Alternatively, spectate a footy game from a table sideline or just watch it on the big screen TVs.
Vietnamese food
Feeling hungry for some pho? Well, you are lucky with a selection around along Kingsland Road. My personal fave is Hanoi Cafe.
A little bit of peace
For a hidden piece of serenity in Shoreditch, check out garden behind St Leonard’s Church. They also have events and a tour of the crypt on request.
Street food and other places
For more food choices, here are some more ideas:
– Block Street food Now closed ?
– Pump Street food Closed also ☹️
– Box Park – specially good recommendations for drinks, food and shopping.
Then admire some street art around Shoreditch!
